Determination of genetic modification

Genetically modified organisms (GMO) can be found in soy, corn or rice in feed or food. LUFA Nord-West can analyze several modifications with PCR.

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) may be present in feed or food, but are often undesirable in organic feed or in certain feed programmes, e.g. GMO-free milk. We use the PCR method to determine whether GMOs are present in a sample.

The following analyses are available:

  • PCR method to ascertain the presence of GMO in (human) food
  • PCR method to ascertain the presence of GMO in animal feedstuffs
  • Quantification of GMO
  • VLOG
